Neuromodulator Injections

Botox® Helps To Reduce Frown Lines

Neuromodulators, such as Botox®, temporarily reduce the contraction of the muscles that cause facial wrinkles. By relaxing the muscles, the wrinkles become less noticeable and the skin appears smoother.

The procedure takes about 10-15 minutes with minimal discomfort.  A skin numbing cream and ice can be used to reduce discomfort. The neuromodulator used is determined during evaluation and based on patient preference. Botox® is FDA-approved for the cosmetic treatment of facial wrinkles and have undergone significant studies demonstrating their effectiveness and safety.

BOTOX® Cosmetic (onabotulinumtoxinA) is a prescription medicine that is FDA approved to be injected into muscles and used to temporarily improve the look of both moderate to severe crow’s feet lines and frown lines between the eyebrows (glabellar lines) in adults.

BOTOX® Cosmetic targets one of the underlying causes of frown lines and crow’s feet—the repeated muscle contractions from frowning and squinting over the years. Your specialist will inject these muscles with BOTOX® Cosmetic to temporarily reduce muscle activity. You will begin to notice a visible smoothing of your crow’s feet lines and frown lines between your brows.

You may begin to notice results within 24 to 48 hours for moderate to severe frown lines, with results lasting up to 4 months. Learn more about BOTOX® Cosmetic, including side effects.
